What’s up with Town Hall gate?

GATE CLOSED/LOCKED?

In this blog we’re reporting on the video clip posted online that starts to deal with the questions from residents why the Bothasig Town Hall gate is no longer properly managed, closed and locked overnite etc. From the first two days of observation, it would appear that there’s no official lock up taking place anymore. The gate being found closed (but unlocked) so far stem from an unknown person entering the property at random times and then pulling the gate close. The person then proceeds to walk to the right and follow the lines of the building and then disappear under the trees.

Then the gate got closed, locked with a pad lock and stayed like that while the other gate was then opened. Being out of view of our CCTV system we can’t report on how that’s going to be managed but watch this space.

From the latest google streetview images, it’s obvious that there’s a fair bit of “dumping” present in the area where the person observed entering the premises in the CCTV footage might be hanging out. Upon closer inspection and as per proof in the below image, there were in fact a structure present i.e., the theory from the surrounding residents is then proven as fact?

The above matter of a vagrant shelter on the town hall premises were resolved and the items removed by the City of Cape Town. A couple of slip ups in closing the town hall gate has resulted in the below:
