POWER TO THE PEOPLE

In this blog we’re reporting on the Leonardo Village Residents who took part in the demonstration against the high levels of loadshedding endured as well as the NERSA 18.65% electricity price increase. The call to action was made to ward 5 residents from Burgundy Estates, Richwood, Bothasig and Edgemead to meet and then converge at the corner of Bosmansdam Road and Vryburger Avenue. Safety were a top priority and marshals were task to lead the procession while residents were ask to obey the safety instructions of the marshals. The demonstration took place during a loadshedding period, were peaceful and were completed without any incident/glitch. Motorists waved and showed their support for the demonstration by honking their horns as they were passing through the busy junction.
